Online ad revenues swelled to $12.5 billion in 2005, a 30 percent jump over the previous year, an industry group said Thursday.
Internet advertising in the last quarter of 2005 soared by 34 percent over the same period a year ago to $3.6 billion, the Interactive Advertising Bureau said.
IAB said it expected revenues to continue rising this year as advertisers take advantage of emerging technologies, such as Internet TV, broadband video and gaming.
The top three types of advertising were keyword search, which had a 40 percent share of the market last year; followed by display advertising, 19 percent; and classifieds, 18 percent.
